Unit Leader TADOKORO received the "2026 Global Distinguished Engineer Award" from the European Academy of Engineering

TADOKORO Satoshi, Unit Leader of F-REI's Robotics Research Unit for Disaster Response in Narrow Space (affiliated with Tohoku University TCPAI), has been awarded the "2026 Global Distinguished Engineer Award" by the European Academy of Engineering (EAE), an internationally prestigious engineering academy. 

This award is an internationally prestigious honor that honors the world's top engineers who have made significant long-term contributions to technology, industry, and society through outstanding engineering leadership and original innovation. Unit leader TADOKORO was recognized for his outstanding achievements as a pioneer in disaster and rescue robot research over many years, leading to this award.

Unit leader TADOKORO has led the international community at the forefront of research and development of robot technology that contributes to rescue operations and information gathering during disasters. His research achievements go beyond mere theory; pioneering development is underway with a focus on real-world applications, making a significant impact toward future social implementation. He has also been highly regarded for his international leadership, such as serving as President of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), a cross-border technological innovation, revitalizing the field, and raising social awareness.
