Radioactivity and Air Dose Rate

(2018)

QHow far does the radiation come from?(2)

ADose rate is affected by topography. When concentration of radiocesium in soil is the same, dose rate becomes higher at the bottom of valley and lower at the top of mountain. This tendency becomes strong at higher elevation.

  • Dose rate is affected by topography.
  • When concentration of radiocesium in soil is the same, dose rate becomes higher at the bottom of valley and lower at the top of mountain.
  • This tendency becomes clear at higher elevation.
